What is love from your own point of view? From my point of view I say God is love.
Why did I say God his love? The reasons are simple:
God is faithful and merciful.
God is good and powerful.
God's love is very special and His love doesn't change.
God does not deceive and n ever hurts his people.
His love for us is very special and gentle in all ways.
When God says I love you He means it, but when a man says I love you he means I want something from you.
God's love is the kind of love that confides in you and endures without failing.
God's love is sacrificial and love is His religion..
God's love is inspiring.
God is generous; He gives before we ask, and provides when we don't have.
God is compassionate and He means well for those who serve Him.
Having read all those attributes and functionality of God's majesty above, now tell me if you've ever met someone who has all those qualities I listed above?
In as much as we can never be God, it's his will that we epitomise his glory and let much of his light shine to the entire world through us. Showing love does not end within the confine of relationship between a man and his wife or a lady and her man. Love should exist between a man and his children, a woman and her neighbour, a guy and his friends and a lady and her peers.
Having happiness in a relationship between one and his/her spouse is not just a functionality of how they behave to themselves or what they do for one another but also how they live with their neigbours, how they relate with their relatives and children have a lot to contribute to the wellness of their relationship. A man who feels the love of his wife towards his extended family will always see that woman as a gold while a woman who feels the love of her husband toward their children will always see the man as a good father. All these qualities are what we see in one another which stimulate our affections toward our partner. Now let's consider some amazing things we can do to show love.
1. HUMANITARIAN PROJECT.
To whom much is given in life much is expected. The essence of God's blessings in our lives is so we could be a source of blessings to someone else. You want to ask why someone shouldn't work for their money instead of waiting for you to help them? You're right if you ask so but the truth is life isn't fair to everyone equally.Some are in that position today not because they're lazy, sometimes when life wants to play trick on people it doesn't matter the level of their intelligence or nobility.
Yesterday I heard on the radio the story of a woman in Nigeria. She was once loaded financially and well to do, she was buoyant enough to take care of her family. She was always importing goods from outside Nigeria into the country. But tragedy struck her on the day she traveled out of Nigeria to purchase goods for sale. She left for Dubai with her last born and left the remaining three kids with her husband in Nigeria. She had not gotten to Dubai before Boko Haram (the Nigerian terrorists) blew up the church behind her house and some houses in her estate (including her house), that was the day she became a widow and lost three out of four children she had including her husband. When she got the call concerning the incidence back home she ran mad; lost control of her senses and became deranged. She tore her cloths in the mist of the crowd at the Plaza where she purchased her goods in Dubai and literally run mad. She dropped the baby she was carrying on the ground, and flung the bags of goods she was holding. It was the authorities in Dubai who helped her to get back to Nigeria after she had lost her passport and goods at the point of her craziness.
The woman came back to Nigeria and did not know where to start from, no one would borrow her money to start a new business, it became hard for her to survive as her sister told her she would only help her or house her if she joins their occult church. She refused the sister's proposer to become a cultist and that was how she became homeless. She came to Lagos in search of a better but ended up living under the bridge as her sister's help was too much of a help to her. In this situation what can she do? There are many people like this around us everyday. We see them while driving by everyday and they all have genuine story to tell. SOMETIMES IN LIFE OUR PROBLEMS GET SOLVED WHILE SOLVING OTHER PEOPLE'S PROBLEMS. REACH OUT TO HELP SOMEONE TODAY.
2. BEING A GUIDE OR COUNSELOR TO A YOUNG PROSPECT.
If there's one thing we don't have enough in this world, that counselors. Everyone is so buried in themselves and forget that if one can reach one, each one can teach one. Some social disturbances from miscreants today could have been prevented if they had the right tutor or guidance. it's not too late to locate a kid with potential for greatness, a kid who's hungry for life and willing to learn the right thing. Be not just a mentor but a teacher. there's nothing wrong in helping a child who's not your's to grow in life, somebody different from you could be all your child also need to be great in life in the nearest future.
3. FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness is a gift that' so expensive in life yet costs nothing to give. Someone might have wronged you, you might not be able to forget but you can forgive. You have not known how to truly love until you know how to forgive. Unforgiveness is a prison that enslaves its victims. sometimes the person you're loathing doesn't even know it. Free yourself from the captivity of bitterness because it's not good for your health. Research shows that number one leading cause of SOME cancer cases unforgiveness. I know unforgiveness is an expensive gift, but you can give it if you want to.Do yourself a favour by releasing those you've been bitter about from your heart.
4. LOVE CAN BE SHOWN THROUGH GENTLENESS.
YOU DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER WHAT PEOPLE DO, BUT YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER WHAT YOU DO. Refusing to retort when someone has angered you could be a reason that offender would turn a new leaf. Good habit is contagious, people could learn your manner if it attracts them and when someone learns to be gentle like you, you're indirectly helping them to be a better person in the society.Do to other how you want them to do unto you.
5. BE TRUTHFUL IN ALL YOU DO.
Truthfulness is a commodity that is not common in today's society. It takes a good heart to be truthful all round. What good is love if all it does is deceive people? Let your heart know nothing but purity and truthfulness. a corrupt mind only has little to give in life. YOU CAN'T HAVE A BIG HEART AND GIVE LITTLE OF YOU WHEN IT COMES TO TRUTHFULNESS .
6. SHOW LOVE BY BEING HUMBLE TO PEOPLE.
There's no ladder to climb to the top like humility. Humble people are easily loved by everyone. When you're respectful and humble to someone they feel loved by you and what you get in return is love. Humility is an accessory you must wear every time you put on your dresses. Be humble to people and you'd get their hearts touched.
THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE IF WE ALL DO OUR PARTS IN MAKING IT A BETTER PLACE.
"LET LOVE BE YOUR RELIGION AND YOU'LL HAVE MANY FOLLOWERS WORSHIPING WITH YOU".
